Vidyasagar Sishu Academy:

The academy located at Rabindra Sarovar, Kolkata, was set up with the objectives to render services to the children of weaker section especially the slum dwellers. The academy gives special emphasis on vocational training which includes sewing, and singing.

The academy runs a crèche that benefits many under privileged working women. The crèche accommodates children of the age group between 1 month and 5 years. For the age group between 3 and 6 years, the academy has established Balwadi Center, an Educational Institution. Various activities for welfare and entertainment of the children are held with the active cooperation of Inner Wheel, Rotary Club and Rotaract Clubs. Periodic diagnostic camps producing medical services are held including medicines to the weaker section of the society.

A special nutrition program is undertaken providing eggs and fruits to 120 Students everyday. Two sets of uniform are provided to all the students. The nutrition program is financed by Sri Ravi Poddar, the noted industrialist.
