Nehru Children's Museum is a project of National Cultural Association, founded by a group of young men with the initiative of Jugal Srimal, in 1945. The objective was to impart education to children through entertainment with visual aids and to make people conscious to fight out superstition and social ills.

The dream came true in 1972 with the inauguration of the Museum. The dynamic leadership of its Founder Director Jugal Srimal rendered it into a center of multi-faceted activities - Jawahar Sishu Bhavan, Vidyasagar Academy, Ankur. Vidyasagar Sishu Academy, Vocational Training Centres etc.
